Born in Longview, Washington in 1962, Alan Jones is an acclaimed jazz drummer, composer, and educator who began his professional career at age 16 touring with organist Count Dutch. Based primarily in Portland, Oregon, he has performed and recorded with jazz luminaries including Esperanza Spalding, Kenny Wheeler, Lee Konitz, and Dave Holland, while leading his own Alan Jones Sextet and founding the Alan Jones Academy of Music.
