Late Night Set: Alan Jones
Bassist and composer Alan Jones brings his dedication to honoring Black American Music to this late-night set at The Dawn Club. At just 21 years old, the San Francisco Conservatory of Music student has already shared stages with jazz luminaries including Matt Wilson, David Sanchez, Ed Simon, Carmen Bradford, Chad Lefkowitz-Brown, and Keith Oxman, while studying under Matt Brewer and Scott Pingel.
Jones represents a new generation committed to carrying forward jazz's rich legacy through both performance and original composition. His approach honors the tradition while bringing a contemporary perspective shaped by his studies at one of the nation's premier jazz conservatories.
This is intimate late-night jazz in The Dawn Club's cozy setting, where Jones can explore the music without the constraints of earlier sets. The late hour creates space for deeper musical conversations, extended solos, and the kind of spontaneous moments that define great jazz performances.
The show takes place in The Dawn Club's main room, where all guests enjoy unobstructed views of the stage and tableside beverage service. Live music typically begins at 8pm with three sets running through midnight, making this an opportunity to catch an emerging artist in one of the city's most atmospheric jazz venues.
