Dante Milano
Chicago-born keyboardist Dante Milano brings his genre-blending artistry to Mr. Tipple's with his fiery trio, showcasing a repertoire that spans jazz, R&B, electronic, and neo-soul. After graduating from the Dave Brubeck Institute, Milano released his debut album DANTE in 2021 and has since earned recognition for his virtuosic concepts and specific fusions of ideas from various genres.
Milano's classically trained foundation, rooted in Chicago's blues and jazz traditions through study with local legends, provides the bedrock for his explorations into hip-hop, electronic, and pop music. His piano work demonstrates improvisational fluency across the keys, Fender Rhodes, and synthesizer, creating compositions largely inspired by virtuosic concepts and the fusion of diverse musical elements.
The keyboardist has an impressive collaborative history, having played and produced with artists ranging from jazz luminaries Carl Allen, Lewis Nash, and Terrell Stafford to contemporary stars like Omar Apollo, Kenny Beats, and Chance the Rapper. His work with Isaiah Collier & The Chosen Few showcases his ability to support intense, fervent jazz performances with conviction and purpose.
Joining Milano are drummer Joseph Evans and bassist Andrew Mendoza, forming a trio that promises to deliver both new compositions and reimagined classics. Milano's live performances are known for their wide-ranging interpretations and dynamic energy, as he draws from over a decade of experience working with musically diverse musicians across Chicago and California.
Expect an evening that moves seamlessly between contemplative jazz moments and more energetic neo-soul excursions, all anchored by Milano's sophisticated harmonic approach and his ability to translate influences from across the musical spectrum into cohesive, compelling performances.
