Sam Minaie

Iranian-American bassist Sam Minaie was born in Reno, Nevada and studied classical and jazz performance at the University of Nevada before earning his MFA in Jazz Studies at California Institute of the Arts under Charlie Haden. Since relocating to New York in 2009, he has become a sought-after session and touring bassist, recording with artists including Tigran Hamasyan, Ravi Coltrane, and Charlie Haden's Liberation Orchestra, while also working as a producer and engineer.
