JL Collective Presents Vol. II is the second installment of Jonah Levine's innovative collaborative series, which brings together artists from different musical and geographic worlds for a one-night-only performance of newly created music. Each edition invites an out-of-town artist to join Levine in the Bay Area for a short residency of writing, recording, and sonic exploration, culminating in a live debut. The result is a set of original music that exists only in the moment it's performed.

This installment features Italian drummer and producer Tommaso Cappellato alongside Bay Area bassist Michael "Tiny" Lindsey. Cappellato is a musical maverick whose eclectic style spans spiritual jazz, electronic music, and global influences. Originally from Italy and based in LA, he spent nine years in New York studying under jazz luminaries like Billy Hart and Reggie Workman. His extensive travels have taken him from Senegal to collaborate with local music masters to Brooklyn's hip-hop scene, resulting in a unique sound that blends jazz foundations with hip-hop, techno, and world music traditions. The founder of Domanda Music, he's behind projects like Collettivo Immaginario and Explorare, bringing his innovative approach to stages and festivals around the world.

Michael "Tiny" Lindsey is a versatile bassist who has become a pillar of the Bay Area music community. Born in New York and professionally performing since age fifteen, he brings deep roots in jazz, R&B, funk, and gospel. His impressive touring history includes work with John Legend, Alicia Keys, John Mayer, Boyz II Men, Common, and Jay-Z, with appearances on major television programs like The Tonight Show and Jimmy Kimmel Live. His playing reflects decades of experience across genres and a lifelong dedication to the craft.

Leader Jonah Levine, a Bay Area native who spent part of his career in Los Angeles working with artists like Leon Bridges and contributing to Grammy Award-winning records, creates space for spontaneous collaboration between artists who might not otherwise share the stage. Through this series, he brings together distinct musical communities for something truly unique.

The trio lineup features Levine on piano and trombone, Cappellato on drums, and Lindsey on bass. Expect an evening where Cappellato's boundary-pushing approach to rhythm—incorporating electronic elements and global influences—meets Lindsey's deep groove mastery and Levine's genre-bridging compositions. With the music being created specifically for this performance, audiences will witness the rare opportunity to hear original compositions in their live debut.
