Fog City Swing
Self-proclaimed "world's smallest big band," Fog City Swing delivers the full power of a swing orchestra with just seven pieces. Created in 2023 by trumpeter Daniel Herrera and saxophonist Greg Johnson, this ensemble has quickly become one of the Bay Area's premier jazz and swing acts, building their reputation through a regular residency at San Francisco's renowned Dawn Club.
The band's three-horn front line creates an electrifying sound that spans classic swing standards from Count Basie and Sinatra to unexpected takes on pop favorites like Tom Jones and Michael Jackson. Their versatile repertoire includes swing, hard bop, and classic pop reimagined through a jazz lens, with stellar crooning vocals anchored by a rhythm section that truly swings.
Fog City Swing brings infectious energy to their performances, creating an atmosphere where audiences become part of the experience. Their shows transport listeners back to the 1940s while maintaining a fresh, contemporary edge that makes even familiar tunes feel newly discovered.
Keys Jazz Bistro offers an intimate setting for this dynamic ensemble, where the candlelit room allows the horns to feel close enough to touch. The venue's cozy atmosphere perfectly complements Fog City Swing's engaging performance style, creating a sense of community that makes the crowd feel like old friends by the second set.
