Smith Dobson Quartet

Smith Dobson was a renowned pianist, singer, and arranger active primarily in the San Francisco Bay Area from the 1960s until his death in 2001. He founded the influential Jazz Series at Garden City in San Jose in 1981 and recorded several albums including Smithzonian (1986) and Sasha Bossa (1988), collaborating with artists such as Bobby Hutcherson, Art Pepper, and Eddie Gomez. He also taught jazz at UC Santa Cruz and San Jose State University.
