Sameer Gupta is a Brooklyn-based percussionist and composer who uniquely bridges jazz and Indian classical music traditions. Born in 1976, he is a co-founder of Brooklyn Raga Massive and has established himself as an original voice by combining bebop, avant-garde jazz, and North Indian tabla within a multicultural improvisational framework. He has performed and recorded with acclaimed musicians including Marc Cary, Grachan Moncur III, Reggie Workman, and Jon Batiste.
