Ruthie Foster

Ruthie Foster is a Grammy-winning singer-songwriter born in Gause, Texas, who draws from blues, gospel, folk, soul, and jazz traditions. Raised in a gospel family and trained as a musician, Foster crafted her distinctive voice through diverse experiences including service in the U.S. Navy Band and time in New York's songwriting community. Her powerful, soulful vocals and authentic roots-music approach have earned her multiple Grammy nominations and her first Grammy win in 2025 for Best Contemporary Blues Album.
