Rumi Abe is a Japanese pianist and composer who began musical training at age 4 with Electone at Yamaha Music School before discovering jazz in the United States. She studied under mentors Fumio Karashima and Josh Nelson, performing over 200 shows annually in Tokyo before relocating to San Francisco in 2024, where she continues performing at Bay Area jazz clubs.
