Rudresh Mahanthappa Hero Trio

Alto saxophonist, composer, and educator Rudresh Mahanthappa is widely recognized as one of the premier voices in 21st-century jazz, hailed by Pitchfork as "jaw-dropping… one of the finest saxophonists going." Born in Trieste, Italy to Indian émigrés and raised in Boulder, Colorado, Mahanthappa has earned nine Downbeat Magazine alto saxophonist of the year awards and received the Guggenheim Fellowship and Doris Duke Performing Artist Award. He currently serves as the Anthony H. P. Lee '79 Director of Jazz at Princeton University.
