Roy McCurdy is a celebrated jazz drummer born in Rochester, New York in 1936. A versatile accompanist and ensemble player, he is best known for his eleven-year tenure with Cannonball Adderley's Quintet (1964-1975) and has recorded with over 150 artists including Sonny Rollins, Art Farmer, Nancy Wilson, Oscar Peterson, and Herbie Hancock. He has been an adjunct professor at USC Thornton School of Music since 2010.
