Peter Zak is an American jazz pianist and composer born in Los Angeles in 1965 who has been performing and recording for over twenty years as both a bandleader and sideman. Known for his mastery of the piano-bass-drums trio format and his thoughtful interpretations of jazz standards and original compositions, he has released eleven albums as a leader and collaborated with numerous prominent jazz musicians including George Coleman, Ryan Kisor, and Walt Weiskopf. He has been teaching at The New School's School of Jazz and Contemporary Music since 1995.
