Paul Hanson

Paul Hanson is widely recognized as the world's leading jazz bassoonist, pioneering innovative approaches to the instrument over two decades. Drawing from classical roots and jazz saxophone experience, he has performed at major festivals including Montreux, Berlin, and North Sea Jazz, and collaborated with artists including Béla Fleck, Wayne Shorter, and Billy Cobham. He notably created a signature electric improvising bassoon role for Cirque du Soleil's ZED production in Tokyo.
