Grammy-winning vocalist Patti Austin is a versatile jazz, R&B, and pop singer born in Harlem in 1950. The daughter of jazz trombonist Gordon Austin and goddaughter of Dinah Washington and Quincy Jones, she has enjoyed a 70-year career spanning session work, commercial jingles, pop hits, and acclaimed jazz albums. Known for her sophisticated interpretation of the American Songbook, Austin has won Grammy Awards for her jazz vocal performances including tributes to Ella Fitzgerald and George Gershwin.
