Micah McClain

Micah McClain is an accomplished drummer and educator based in the San Francisco Bay Area with 32 years of teaching experience and 20+ years of classroom music instruction. He is a versatile performer fluent in jazz, funk, soul, and world music traditions, having performed on six continents and studied West African, Indian classical, and Ugandan court music. Currently a freelance drummer with projects including My 3 Sons, Andre Cruz & Chris Lujan, and the Pentatonics, McClain is certified in the Orff Schulwerk approach and combines his extensive mentorship from jazz luminaries with innovative pedagogical methods.
