Matt Mitchell

Matt Mitchell is a pianist, composer, and electronic musician born in 1975 who explores the intersections of acoustic, electric, composed, and improvised new music. A core member of ensembles led by Tim Berne, Dave Douglas, John Hollenbeck, and others, he has released critically acclaimed albums as a leader on Pi Recordings and other labels. Mitchell is also a dedicated educator and 2015 recipient of a Doris Duke Impact Award.
