Marlonius

Marlon Martinez is a Los Angeles-based bassist, composer, and bandleader of the Marlonius Jazz Orchestra. A protégé of Stanley Clarke who studied with Ron Carter, Martinez bridges classical and jazz traditions, having performed with diverse artists from Stewart Copeland to Ravi Coltrane while serving as an authority on Billy Strayhorn's legacy.
