Mark Turner

Born in 1965 in Ohio and raised in Southern California, Mark Turner is a highly intellectual saxophonist who has emerged as one of jazz's most original and influential voices. Known for his distinctive tone, singular improvisational skills, and innovative compositional approach featuring odd meters and intervallic complexity, Turner has maintained a prolific career as both a bandleader and in-demand sideman, collaborating with many of jazz's leading musicians.
