Makaya McCraven

Makaya McCraven is a Chicago-based drummer, composer, and producer known as a "beat scientist" who blends jazz with hip-hop, electronic music, and folk traditions. Born in Paris to a jazz drummer father and Hungarian singer mother, he moved to Massachusetts as a child before settling in Chicago in 2007, where he has become a leading figure in contemporary creative music.
