Macy Blackman Trio

Pianist, vocalist, and musicologist Macy Blackman was born in 1948 in Wilmington, Delaware, and spent decades performing across Philadelphia and New York before relocating to San Francisco in 2000. A master of New Orleans R&B and classic jazz, he led the popular Rockin' Rebels (averaging 300+ gigs annually for 14 years) and later formed The Mighty Fines, synthesizing early New Orleans jazz with 1950s R&B. He also teaches musicology and works as a piano technician.
