Jazz guitarist, composer, and bandleader Liberty Ellman (born 1971, London) is best known for his 20-year tenure with Henry Threadgill's groundbreaking ensemble Zooid, whose Pulitzer Prize-winning album 'In for a Penny, In for a Pound' he also produced and mixed. A prolific sideman and leader, Ellman has recorded with Joe Lovano, Vijay Iyer, Wadada Leo Smith, and many other innovative jazz artists, while also working as a recording engineer and educator at UC Berkeley.
