Kamrin Ortiz is a tenor saxophonist and clarinetist from the Bay Area known for his loud, commanding approach to hard-swinging jump, swing, and rhythm & blues. Raised listening to Coleman Hawkins and influenced by tough-toned Texas saxophonists like Herschel Evans and Illinois Jacquet, Ortiz leads his six-piece band The Knock Outs performing 1940s and 1950s-style originals throughout the Bay Area and internationally.
