Juan Medrano Cotito is a virtuoso Peruvian cajón player and percussionist appointed as an ambassador of the cajón by the Peruvian government. He accompanied singer Susana Baca for 25 years, founded the group Novalima, and is known for his work preserving and promoting Afro-Peruvian music traditions worldwide.
