John Gove

John Gove is a versatile freelance trombonist, pianist, and composer/arranger who has performed with notable jazz artists including the Mingus Dynasty Orchestra, Terrence Blanchard, Chris Potter, and Maria Schneider, as well as with vocalists and popular artists such as Tony Bennett and Peter Gabriel. A two-time Down Beat Award winner for composition and arranging, he serves as chair of the theory department at the California Jazz Conservatory in Berkeley and as director of jazz studies at Laney College.
