Jim Kerwin

Jim Kerwin is an accomplished bassist born in San Francisco in 1952 who has been the longest-tenured member of the David Grisman Quintet since joining in 1985. With a classical training background and a versatile musical palette spanning jazz, bluegrass, world music, and beyond, Kerwin has performed at prestigious venues including Carnegie Hall and collaborated with artists such as Jerry Garcia, Stéphane Grappelli, and Yo-Yo Ma.
