Jeremy Pelt is a preeminent contemporary jazz trumpeter born in Los Angeles in 1976. After studying at Berklee College of Music, he arrived in New York in 1998 and quickly established himself through early work with the Mingus Big Band, leading to collaborations with jazz luminaries including Ravi Coltrane, Roy Hargrove, Jimmy Heath, and Vincent Herring. A prolific leader with 25 albums and multiple Rising Star awards from DownBeat Magazine, Pelt is also known for his work as a producer, educator, and oral historian documenting contemporary jazz musicians.
