Jayla Chee is a New York-based jazz bassist and composer originally from the Bay Area, California. She earned her bachelor's degree in jazz bass from Juilliard, where she studied under Gerald Cannon, and has also studied privately with Rufus Reid. She maintains an active performance schedule at major New York jazz venues including Smalls, Birdland, and Dizzy's.
