Javier Navarrette is an Oakland-based Latin percussionist specializing in Afro-Caribbean rhythms with over 25 years of professional experience. He has performed and recorded with renowned artists including Poncho Sanchez, Los Van Van, Giovanni Hidalgo, and Jerry Gonzalez, and has studied with master musicians in Cuba and the Bay Area. Beyond performing, he is dedicated to teaching and curating cultural music events that celebrate Latin and Caribbean musical traditions.
