Jason Marsalis is an accomplished drummer and vibraphonist born in New Orleans in 1977, and the youngest member of the renowned Marsalis jazz family. He began his musical training at age 6 with legendary drummer James Black and has maintained a prolific career as a bandleader, composer, and collaborator in post-bop and straight-ahead jazz, while also exploring funk fusion and Brazilian percussion styles.
