Eric Alexander is an American tenor saxophonist born in 1968 in Illinois who gained international recognition by placing second at the 1991 Thelonious Monk International Jazz Saxophone Competition. Known for his warm, finely burnished tone and robust melodic imagination rooted in the bebop tradition, he has recorded over 20 albums as a leader and 300+ as a sideman, maintaining prolific output since his debut in 1992.
