Brooklyn-based jazz guitarist David Blake was born and raised in Vancouver, Canada and is developing a name for himself in New York's vibrant jazz community. Known for his virtuosic yet thoughtful playing rooted in the post-bop tradition, Blake explores original compositions incorporating contemporary composition and free improvisation with his working quartet featuring pianist Dabin Ryu, bassist Warren Louie, and drummer Jonas Esser. An accomplished jazz educator, he has taught at NYU and the VSO School of Music while releasing multiple albums including "Fun House" and "Trio" with renowned artists Ari Hoenig and Drew Gress.
