Charlie Gurke is a saxophonist, composer, and educator active in the jazz and Latin music scenes of the San Francisco Bay Area. He leads his own ensemble Gurkestra and performs with groups including the John Santos Sextet, Electric Squeezebox Orchestra, and salsa band Candela. He teaches jazz ensembles and jazz history at Laney College in Oakland and the Community Music Center in San Francisco.
