Brian Rice

Brian Rice is an acclaimed percussionist and educator specializing in Brazilian and Afro-Cuban music. With a B.M. in Percussion Performance and Ethnomusicology from Oberlin Conservatory, he has performed on over sixty recordings and collaborated with internationally renowned Brazilian and Cuban artists. He currently directs the Samba Bateria and Afro-Cuban Ensemble at UC Davis and co-founded the Berkeley Festival of Choro.
