Billy Childs

Billy Childs is a Grammy-winning composer, pianist, and arranger who seamlessly bridges jazz and classical music traditions. Born in Los Angeles in 1957, he emerged as one of America's foremost contemporary composers after studying at USC and mentoring under trumpet legend Freddie Hubbard. With six Grammy Awards, a Guggenheim Fellowship, and commissions from major orchestras and ensembles worldwide, Childs has established himself as perhaps the most distinctly American composer since Aaron Copland.
