Benny Amón is a California-born drummer and bandleader specializing in New Orleans jazz and swing traditions. After earning his music degree from UC Berkeley, he lived and performed in New Orleans from 2011-2021 at venues like Preservation Hall and the Steamboat Natchez, touring internationally before returning to the San Francisco Bay Area where he leads his own ensembles and serves as a teaching artist with the Preservation Hall Foundation and Jazz at Lincoln Center.
